Recognition Comes Too Late!

November 9, 2009 - 12:00am
Of course I deserve the recognition, but the e-mail was rather amusing!

I am being considered for inclusion in Heritage's Who's Who of Business Leaders and Professionals registry. It seems my reported accolades have earned me this special recognition. It was such a personal e-mail, addressed to "Dear Professional."

After doing some research on the internet, I found some rather interesting comments about this registry. It turns out that anyone can start a who's who publication. The only trick is to convince people they should be included. There is no charge for inclusion.

What do I have to gain? I will see my name listed in the registry along with other people who believe their accomplishments are noteworthy. But of course, in order to see my name in print, I have to buy the publication.

But why was the e-mail amusing? Because it stated that the application must be submitted by October 31. I got it on November 4!
